About This Project

Rapid growth at AUT meant that the university had an urgent need for teaching spaces and academic offices at their Manukau campus. With major long term development plans for the campus, AUT wanted the flexibility to move or alter the buildings in the future so the buildings were designed to enable dismantling and relocation at a later date.

Unique Aspects

The buildings are constructed from lightweight materials – timber framing, timber cladding and coloursteel roofing – and can be split into 6m by 12m sections that can be moved independently. The project was delivered to a very tight four month construction programme to ensure the new facilities were open for Semester 1, 2015.
