About This Project

A home for 30,000 fans – whatever the weather. This world-class sport, entertainment and education facility has become an economic centre point for Dunedin and New Zealand alike, attracting international sporting and entertainment events since opening in August 2011.

Unique Aspects

The translucent roof was built to maximise sunlight in the Southern Hemisphere winter, allowing grass to grow underneath; making it an all year-round proposition for sporting activities. With more than 600 people working on the construction at the height of the programme, Arrow delivered on time and on budget, ensuring that the guaranteed maximum price of the construction was achieved

Many said it could not be done. Six years on, it is done. Arguably this project is unprecedented in terms of the value delivered and the fact that it has been delivered to the criteria established at that outset. There have been many heros and heroines in this project. However, I can unequivocally say that without Arrow this project would never have happened.
