Cedar Pacific have engaged Arrow to undertake early works for a 21-level student accommodation complex to be built between Beach Road and Anzac Avenue in the Auckland CBD.
This project when complete will add another 488 beds to Cedar Pacific’s central portfolio in Auckland. The project will include a large communal kitchen, TV/theatre room, study room, gymnasium, communal lounge and BBQ area on a roof deck overlooking the Hauraki Gulf.
The 9500m2 student accommodation is being built on 600m2 of land, on a 45 degree angle – resulting in a very tight and complex site.
Access is complicated due to the national cycle route running along the bottom of the site.
Two tower cranes will be used to construct the building.
Complex piling due to the site being on very steep gradient.
Due to the tight floor area, extensive prefabrication of structural and fit out elements will be used to assist with the buildability. This methodology will also minimise site wastage.
