About This Project

A new high-tech water ride that couples wet and wild adventure with a serious ecological message. Rainbow Springs new log flume ride was designed by Logan Brewer Production Design and mechanically engineered in Switzerland, the ride includes a three-metre high moving dinosaur, Haast eagles attacking moas, holograms of Maori warriors and state-of-the-art audio and visual effects. Arrow designed and constructed the civil and construction works, the theming elements and managed the installation within a wet and tight time frame over the theme-parks less busy winter months. A key innovation was a 430 metre long precast canal to form the log flume ride.

Unique Aspects

Dealing with enough mains cables to power a small town. The quality and accuracy of in-ground flume construction to Swiss standards.  A 3m high dinosaur. State-of-the-art audio visual effects

The ride is designed to inform park visitors, as well as to entertain... It will make people sit up and take a reflective look about how precious our environment is and the wildlife that inhabits it.
