About This Project

Smales Farm Technology Office Park, located on Auckland’s North Shore used to be a farm. Arrow worked closely with the Smale family to undertake development planning, demonstrate commercial viability, manage stakeholders, develop the site, build and manage the fit-out on the farm’s first building – the Telstra Clear building which consists of approximately 18,000m² of office space over 6 levels.

Unique Aspects

Being so closely involved with the family through every step of the project allowed for practical advice, which ultimately resulted in the project completion approximately $2M under budget. Significant long-term operational and maintenance savings were achieved by using intelligent building technology. Arrow went on to build the TranzRail, now Air New Zealand building on the site.

There have been many instances when Arrow has been able to suggest design modifications to simplify detail, improve the building’s efficiency and generally rationalise the selection of components, which contributed to cost reductions and ensured that deadlines were met."
