Ministry of Education
A new 2,738m² primary school which includes a gymnasium/recreation zone, administration zone, library, four modern learning environments and a dedicated learning area for Kelston Deaf Education Centre students. With a five star Green Star rating, every feature of the school is designed to minimise energy consumption.
The school was delivered to an extremely tight ten month programme to ensure it was ready to open for the 2015 school year. The building was specifically designed to be built using a rapid top-down construction method. The building features structural steel frames which were designed to allow maximum off-site fabrication and fast erection on site. The structural steel was then erected straight onto the concrete footings, enabling multiple trades to work concurrently on both floors.
