About This Project

Hotel construction can often take place under tight timeframes and working conditions as hotel managers work to minimise disruptions and get hotels opened on time. Arrow worked on the design and construction of a new nine storey hotel complex in Melbourne CBD, incorporating five floors of hotel rooms and three floors of apartment style accommodation. A reception area, back of house and food and beverage facilities complete the complex. Through a fast-track construction approach, the hotel was opened two weeks ahead of schedule.

Unique Aspects

The hotel construction incorporated an insitu concrete structure, extensive use of precast concrete panels and speedwall to accelerate the programme. Prefabricated bathrooms ensured a consistent high quality of finish and further expedited construction. As the building occupies virtually the entire site, detailed logistics planning was required.

Back on New Zealand’s shores, Arrow International worked with the Department of Conservation to rebuild their Aoraki Mt Cook National Park Visitor Centre and Hermitage Hotel in the beautiful Aoraki/Mt Cook area. This project was also completed ahead of schedule, even within a tight timeframe.

It's not everyday that things go well in terms of construction and development and we are absolutely delighted."
